Barzagli celebrated his 35th birthday on Sunday and his contract was due to expire at the end of this season.

Barzagli celebrated his 35th birthday on Sunday and his contract was due to expire at the end of this season.

He has been a regular in the back three and showed few of the fitness problems suffered by teammate Giorgio Chiellini.

This convinced the club to add another two years to his contract.

These two deals effectively mean Buffon and Barzagli will see out their careers with the Bianconeri shirt.
