Gigi Buffon said Juventus are starting “a new era” this summer with radical changes to the team, but “we mustn’t limit ourselves.”

The Bianconeri did the Double last term and reached the Champions League Final, but new faces make their debut in today’s friendly against Borussia Dortmund.

“We changed many players, some important elements with great character left and we could say it’s the start of a new era,” Buffon told Sky Sport Italia.

“What are our ambitions for the future? I think we mustn’t limit ourselves. We must figure out quickly what kind of a team we’ll be and where you could go thanks to everyone’s contribution.”

Paulo Dybala and Mario Mandzukic started against Borussia Dortmund, while Sami Khedira and Simone Zaza are among the other newcomers.

“If I weren’t a Juventus player, I would still say that the club invested very well and showed their determination in a difficult time.

“We were able to get strong, motivated players with a lot of potential. I think Dybala, Mandzukic, Khedira and Zaza can in future be part of Juventus history.”
