According to multiple sources, Flamengo Vice-President Marcos Braz, executive director Bruno Spindel and lawyer Marcos Motta flew in to Milan via Lisbon today for a meeting with agent Mino Raiola.

The salary proposed is worth €3m per year plus performance-related bonuses and a large signing-on fee.

Balotelli has been hesitating in case another bid comes in from Europe, especially within Italy, and Fiorentina had seemed the favourites.

However, Calciomercato.com claim Brescia have increased their contract offer to €1m plus a series of bonuses tied to goals scored, appearances and Serie A safety, which would bring the total up to €3m.

This is a huge salary for a club that has only just earned promotion back into Serie A, but President Massimo Cellino is determined to bring Balotelli home.

He was raised in Brescia and his family still lives there, not to mention playing in Serie A he’d be able to play regularly and capture Roberto Mancini’s attention ahead of Euro 2020.
