The Italian international was strongly associated with a January switch to Turin before Christmas and those rumours haven’t gone away.

The Gazzetta dello Sport on Wednesday suggests that the striker, 29, is now just a signature away from completing a move.

Roma, according to the paper, will give Juventus the green light either later today or tomorrow to complete the deal.

Juve will sign the former Genoa and Milan man on loan until the end of the season for approximately €1m.

Juve will then have the option to sign him outright at the end of the campaign for a further €8m if he proves his worth.

Roma were forced to buy Borriello in the summer for €10m after his season on loan from the Rossoneri.

However, he’s started just two Serie A games under new boss Luis Enrique this term.
