The Chinese Superleague club are keen to bring the Italian international to the Far East, while the Rossoneri hope to use his sale to give them room for manoeuvre on the transfer market.
The deal hit a stumbling block though, as Chinese rules mean Shenzhen must put an equal amount to any transfer fee paid into a player development fund.

Effectively that means any bid they make has to be doubled, and the Diavolo wanted €10m.
Now though both Tuttosport and Tuttomercatoweb are reporting that Shenzhen have raised their offer to €8.5m, and that should be enough to convince Milan.
The Italian international has agreed in principle to a three-year contract worth €5m per season, so if the bid is accepted then things should progress quickly.
