Leonardo Bonucci will be out for just three days, after Juventus ruled-out a muscular tear.

The centre-back went down injured while playing for Italy in last night’s friendly defeat to Germany, and had to be stretchered off the pitch.

It was feared that the Bianconeri defender could face a lengthy spell on the sidelines, but tests today have confirmed that the injury is not as bad as feared.

It was feared that the Bianconeri defender could face a lengthy spell on the sidelines, but tests today have confirmed that the injury is not as bad as feared.

“After sustaining an injury in yesterday’s international friendly match between Italy and Germany, Leonardo Bonucci underwent medical tests to ascertain the extent of the damage,” a statement on the Old Lady’s official website began.

“These ruled out any muscle tears. The defender will now rest up for three days before easing back into the team’s training schedule.”

Bonucci is suspended for Saturday’s Empoli game in any case, so will resume training with the squad next week.
