Juventus legend Giampiero Boniperti seems satisfied with the club’s decision in replacing Antonio Conte with Massimiliano Allegri.

Conte led Juve to three consecutive Serie A titles, but resigned just two days into pre-season training. The Old Lady then quickly swooped for the available former Milan boss.

“I know his history and he seems like a good guy,” Boniperti, a former player and President, told Tuttosport.

“He is a Coach who is up to the job. However, for Allegri, like for everyone else, what will count are the results.”

The Turin giants will be going for four straight championships and they have a strong desire to make significant progress in the Champions League.

“Juve’s destiny is always the same, every season,” added the 86-year-old. “They start each campaign to compete for every objective at home and abroad.

“The new signings? It is not my style to judge, but Juventus are a club who must live up to being Juventus.”
