Milan defender Daniele Bonera is thinking about a recall to the Italian international squad for Euro 2012.

The 30-year-old has played in 23 games across all competitions for the Diavolo this term and he’s happy with his form.

“Given that I am now playing with a certain amount of consistency, it is inevitable that I can think about at least being under observation,” stated the stopper.

“Coach Cesare Prandelli has demonstrated that he is well aware of what is going and he’s never excluded anybody.

“I will candidate myself.”

The former Parma man, who can play as a centre-back or a right-back, has made 16 appearances for his country.

However, the former Under-21 international hasn’t featured for the Azzurri since a 1-1 draw against Greece in November 2008.

He’s also never appeared in the final stages of any major tournament despite taking part in eight qualifying matches.
