Milan have agreed to sign Giacomo Bonaventura from Atalanta for €7m.

Atalanta director of sport Pierpaolo Marino tweeted this photograph of Bonaventura signing the contract with Milan CEO Adriano Galliani.

They moved very quickly towards the Orobici winger after the Jonathan Biabiany move sensationally collapsed when Cristian Zaccardo refused to join Parma in exchange.

The Rossoneri had also been due to give Parma €4m plus €1m in performance-related bonuses for Biabiany.

When that situation precipitated, Milan dived into negotiations with Atalanta for Bonaventura and worked quickly to complete the operation.

It’s reported to be a permanent transfer worth €7m, including add-ons.

Milan already raised €6m of that sum by selling young midfielder Bryan Cristante to Benfica for €6m including add-ons this evening.
