Giacomo Bonaventura said Milan “have to take it one game at a time and earn this enthusiasm” after a Europa League victory over Craiova.

Bonaventura and Patrick Cutrone scored in the 2-0 win, which allows them to get through 3-0 on aggregate into the play-offs.

“We have to take it one game at a time. It was a good performance, despite the extreme heat, but we did well to take the lead straight away and continued playing the ball,” he told Mediaset.

“I think we must earn this enthusiasm via our performances and desire to win, ensuring San Siro is packed for most home games.

“We all want to help the side and are all at the disposal of the club. The group is fantastic, everyone is working well and I think by the end of the season everyone will have given their contribution.

“I do what I’ve always done, competition is good for the squad. There are no problems.”

Will Bonaventura or one of the new arrivals be the captain?

“The club wants to decide, it’s up to them.”
