Giacomo Bonaventura sees Pippo Inzaghi as ‘one of us’ at Milan, as he once more relives his deadline day move to the Rossoneri.

Since completing a late summer switch to the red and black half of San Siro and netting on his debut against Parma, the winger has reflected on life under his new Coach Inzaghi.

“The Coach is one of us,” Bonaventura has enthused this week on Tiki Taka.

“I am new here but I see great unity of purpose and an important enthusiasm. Everybody wants to do well.

“Is Inzaghi always manic away from the pitch? I don’t know, I still have not seen those things. For now, I believe he is a great Coach, capable of creating a really cohesive group.”

The 25-year-old was asked of the team’s developing habit in passing the ball around and even back.

“This is a request from Inzaghi, on the fact that the ball must always be handled and never thrown away.

“Parma pressured us much so there were many passes backwards.”

Bonaventura was seen as on the verge of joining Inter on the final day of the summer transfer window, before Milan’s failed move for Jonathan Biabiany saw them come in with a late, successful bid.

“On Monday afternoon, during the last day of the transfer window, I went to Milan, to the Percassi offices, as I knew something would happen.

“Inter were talking with the directors of Atalanta, I was in balance for a transfer and then in came Verona.

“At 7pm, I still did not know my future, I was losing hoe and then at 8.30 arrived the executives from Atalanta who told me ‘Go to Galliani’. I could not believe it, I will offer Zaccardo a dinner.”

Bonaventura was asked about the Nerazzurri who he almost joined.

“We have two different ways of playing, and both are paying off at the moment.

“They have more strength in attack, whilst we try not to provide points of reference, moving as much as possible.

“My good goal record against Inter? There is no particular reason for it, no. I’d say it is more a case, I always try to score as I do in other games, but against Inter it goes in more often. It happens, I cannot explain…”
