“Inter were meant to sell Fredy Guarin to open up a space for me, but in the end the Colombian was not sold.
“Therefore in the afternoon of that incredible Monday I imagined I’d be staying at Atalanta and there was nothing more to be done.
“At 20.30 Marino stopped me leaving and said he’d received a phone call from Adriano Galliani, so we were heading to Milan headquarters.
“I was about to burst out laughing, as it was a crazy situation.”
