Having spent three seasons with the Rossoblu, representatives of the Uruguayan have made complaints to FIFA, who have ruled that the money is in fact, still to be paid.

The initial figure written in the contract was €4m, but Bologna look likely to be forced to pay an extra €1m in interest. The club are expected to appeal the decision, but the money will become due should this turn out to be unsuccessful.

According to La Repubblica, this figure could adversely affect the club’s dealings in the transfer market as €5m represents around 9% of Bologna’s annual revenue of €54m.
