If the Sicilians do not win, then they will be relegated into Serie B, but a victory would plunge Bologna into the bottom two with only one round remaining.

“We know that we have to put in a great performance and that we are obliged to win, otherwise we’d have little chance of survival,” confessed Ballardini in his Press conference.

“It all depends on us. We have to focus on returning home with three points. The team is in good shape and we tested out some different tactical ideas in training.

“I expect Catania to be very attacking, as they have important players despite the difficult campaign.”

Catania had looked to be doomed a few weeks ago, but their 4-1 victory over Roma sparked an unexpected comeback.

Bologna are without the suspended Niccolò Cherubin, injured Francesco Della Rocca and Diego Perez.
