Bologna appear to have beaten Torino to the signature of Roma striker Eldor Shomurodov, on loan with obligation to buy for €11m, opening the door for Andrea Belotti.

The Uzbekistan international striker is not part of coach Jose Mourinho’s plans and was put on the market this summer.

Torino had seemed like the favourites, but Bologna increased their bid and now reports have them close to a deal on loan with obligation to buy for a total €11m.

Once Roma have successfully got rid of Shomurodov, they can officially sign former Torino forward Belotti as a free agent.

He has already agreed personal terms on a two-year contract believed to be worth €2.8m plus up to €0.7m in bonuses.

It will allow Belotti to reunite with his old Palermo teammate Paulo Dybala at the Stadio Olimpico.

Meanwhile, Georginio Wijnaldum has signed the contract and it has been deposited with the Lega Serie A, so only the formal announcement is remaining on his loan with option to buy move from PSG.
