The 23-year-old Ivorian has been heavily linked with Napoli, Inter, Juventus and a return to the Premier League.

“Nothing is definitive yet. I spoke to coach Roberto De Zerbi to have a better understanding of the situation. I am ready for a new challenge, whether it is in Italy or abroad, but I could remain at Sassuolo too.

“I think Serie A football is suited to me and I am having the best season of my career so far.”

In 24 Serie A appearances this season, Boga scored eight goals with four assists for Sassuolo.

There is one other option that Boga would relish going forward in his career, although this one is more about the heart than the head.

“I was born in Marseille, so I have dreamed of playing for Olympique Marseille since I was a kid.”
