Boca Juniors President Daniel Angelici remains confident they can sign Gustavo Gomez, even after Milan declared he wouldn’t be joining them.

The defender has barely featured all season and is seeking a return to South America for the Xeneizes, but they’re only prepared to take him on loan.

Milan sporting director Massimiliano Mirabelli said this afternoon that he “doesn’t think Boca is possible. They want the loan, while we want to sell him.”

While at a Press conference presenting new buy Carlos Tevez, Angelici replied.

“Negotiations are open. We are working in a bid to incorporate him into the squad. It’s not easy, but I hope to present him to you in the next Press conference.”

Angelici also commented on Genoa benchwarmer Ricardo Centurion.

“He is a good player, he gave a lot to Boca in the past and I have nothing personal against him, but the situation is the same as when we decided not to renew his contract.

“If he were to call, I’d talk to him, but nothing more. He’s a good player, but off the field there were some issues that the directors did not appreciate.”
