The Ghanaian arrived from Portsmouth via Genoa in the summer and is still technically owned by the Marassi side.

“Coming to Milan was fantastic,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“I was so impressed by the Milanello training ground, San Siro and all the champions I had the honour of working with like Ronaldinho, Clarence Seedorf, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Robinho and all the other players I always admired on television.

“I never thought that one day I could play alongside them. I arrived via Genoa, but I didn't really mind the way I got to Milan, the important thing is that I'm here now.

“I am part of this squad and above all I want to remain here. My objective for the next two years is to stay at Milan, where everything is perfect. I really hope to stay at Milan for life.

“I know what I can give, I know my capabilities and I will prove to everyone that I have what it takes to wear this shirt.”

One of his current teammates was Boateng's hero growing up, along with two former Serie A stars.

“Ronaldinho was simply incredible. When I was a kid, my idol was Rivaldo, as people said I looked like him. Another player I admired a lot was Zinedine Zidane, as he acted almost as if football was too easy for him, even boring, so I liked his relaxed approach.”
