"Tomorrow evening is an important game for us but it may not be the determining game to get into the next round,” he told a Press conference.
“It’ll be a tough game as they’re at home and they play well here, very aggressive. It’ll be a great evening and should be faced with real tactical attentiveness and trying to play technically good football.
“We have to separate the league from the Champions League. We have to get a result tomorrow as the second objective of the season is to get into the last 16 stage of the competition. The first objective was to qualify.
“The first part of the season is now behind us. In the League we have a few more games that we can win to get back up the table and then there’s the Coppa Italia as well as the last 16 of the Champions League as objectives.
“We have to do more as what we’ve done so far in the league is not enough. The team shouldn’t be thinking about what happens outside the changing room. Of course there’s bitterness and disappointment among the fans: we feel it too and so does everyone who works for the club.
“We have to do everything we can to do better and to do that, we need to have the fans with us. It’s not true that it’s better to play away from the San Siro. It’s always better for us to play at home in front of our fans.
“There’s false news doing the rounds. It’s completely untrue that five players showed up late for training. I’d like to know who’s starting these stories. We have to try and win tomorrow but it won’t be easy as Celtic play well at home and in the last 11 matches, they’ve only lost two.
“Winning tomorrow may not even be enough depending on what happens in Amsterdam. Lennon is a good Coach as he’s getting good results in the league and in Europe.
“Balotelli will start tomorrow evening and we expect a lot from him. I have a great relationship with him. He was an important player in the second half of last season and he is now as well.”
