Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini was “very bitter” at the home defeat to Roma and the club refused to rule out sacking Bortolo Mutti.

The Rosanero fell to a third consecutive loss on Saturday evening when Fabio Borini’s early goal decided the 1-0 result.

“Zamparini left five minutes before the final whistle, as he was very bitter,” confirmed director of sport Luca Cattani.

“Is the Coach in question? I won’t comment on what the President says, although obviously everyone is in question, as we have not yet achieved our objective of safety.”

Mutti is already the third tactician of the campaign, as Stefano Pioli was sacked before the season even started and Devis Mangia was axed in December.

“We saw the team is still alive, as there were many chances in the second half. I am sure we will be able to interrupt this negative streak.

“We got it wrong in the first half, as we didn’t move well in attack and made many mistakes in defence. There was a reaction eventually and Bogdan Lobont did well to keep Roma in front.”
