Inter’s summer acquisition Yann Aurel Bisseck has recently conducted an interview with the 1. FC Koln-themed website Geissblog, in which he discussed his start to life at Inter and the importance of earning trust from Simone Inzaghi.

The 22-year-old admitted that the move had been on a different scale to anything that he had experienced before, as he now has to prove himself before being playing in the first team, despite having previously been a guaranteed starter at his former clubs.

Though he may have to hold out for regular appearances as a starter, Bisseck was given a five-year contract in the summer, a sign that Inter see him as a key part of their future.

“I feel like I’ve properly arrived now, and I have my own apartment,” Bisseck told Geissblog. “I still have to learn Italian, but I understand most of it because I speak French and that has a lot of similarities. Once I master the language, I’ll feel completely at home here.

“I have to be patient at the beginning, work my way in and learn a bit because I am one of the younger players in the squad. But, I look forward to the next five years. The plan is for me to develop into one of the better defenders in the world.”

Bisseck was asked about continuing the tradition of strong German players who have represented Inter over the years.

“I hope I can continue the tradition well as the tenth German player at Inter. I didn’t know Robin (Gosens) before, but when I was here, he was really helpful and talked me through a lot in the first few weeks. It’s a shame that he’s gone, but he’s in good hands in Berlin.”

Bisseck was then asked to explain how he felt upon making his debut for the Nerazzurri, which came as a substitute during the 2-0 win over Monza on the opening weekend of the Serie A season.

“San Siro is a really amazing arena. It’s quite overwhelming how loud and passionate the fans are, you are properly supported.

“I was really happy to get on in the game, of course there is pressure because the coach expected you to perform, but for me it was mostly a feeling of joy because I had officially played for Inter and that is a big step.”

Then, on Inzaghi, Bisseck stressed that earning the coach’s trust is the most important thing he has to do in Milan.

“There is still a small language barrier because there isn’t much English spoken here, but that’s why I’m learning Italian, to try to understand exactly what he asks from me

“You have to earn trust with him, that’s really important to him. I realised at the first training session that I had to prove myself first before I could even think about playing. To be honest, I wasn’t used to that. At my old clubs, I was confident that I would be a starter. “
