Fiorentina captain Cristiano Biraghi rejected a move to Roma in the summer: ‘As I’ve always said, the only club I could leave for was Inter.’
The Italy international spent one season on loan at San Siro at Inter in 2019-20, returning to Florence the following summer.
Today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the 29-year-old rejected a move to Roma last summer and the defender explains his choice.
“I’ve always said that the only reason why I could leave Fiorentina was to join Inter and that’s what happened.”
According to the report, Fiorentina boss Vincenzo Italiano considers Biraghi ‘untouchable.’ The former Inter and Pescara defender signed a contract extension with Fiorentina in October 2020 and his current deal runs out in 2024.
