Fiorentina captain Cristiano Biraghi said the Viola are out to ‘scare’ Napoli in the upcoming Serie A game.

The Florentines are in great shape under Vincenzo Italiano and sit fifth in the table with 12 points from six games.

But Fiorentina have lost twice against teams above them in the standings and this weekend the Partenopei arrive in Florence.

Biraghi, who was given the captaincy for 2021-22, believes Fiorentina can give the visitors a hard time at the Artemio Franchi.

“Napoli are strong,” he told Tgr Rai Toscana. “But we want to try to scare them.”

The 29-year-old was given the captaincy when German Pezzella left Fiorentina this summer, as the Argentine joined Real Betis in La Liga.

“The captain’s armband is a responsibility and I have always spat blood for the Viola.”

The match against Napoli is the last before the second international break in 2021-22 and Fiorentina will have a gap of 15 days before a trip to newly promoted Venezia.

President Rocco Commisso travels back to America and said he hopes to see Fiorentina pick up a massive win against the Azzurri before he leaves.
