Lazio will be without Lucas Biglia for “at least seven days,” so he’ll miss Sampdoria and is at risk against Roma.

The Argentine midfielder had only just returned from an injury and started Sunday’s 2-1 home defeat to Inter.

However, a statement released by the Biancocelesti medical staff this evening confirmed he is still suffering the after-effects of a sprain to his right knee.

“The athlete will need to observe a period of absolute rest for the next seven days, after which new tests will be performed.”

This means Biglia will certainly miss this weekend’s game with Sampdoria and has to be considered a huge doubt for the Derby della Capitale.

Lazio and Roma are separated by only one point in the race for second, so that game could well decide who gets into the Champions League.
