Guangzhou Evergrande reportedly have a deal reached for Jonathan Biabiany, but are delaying it for a final push for Alessandro Diamanti.

The Chinese outfit last week saw negotiations with Bologna for the Italy international broken off over a failure between the two clubs to agree terms of a proposed €9m deal.

Subsequently the club turned their attention to Parma’s Biabiany and are seen to be close to agreeing terms with the Ducali and co-owners Sampdoria on a €7m to €8m transfer.

Whilst the Frenchman is also seen to have provisionally accepted the move, Calcionews24 today allege that Guangzhou want to delay things so as to make a final assault for Diamanti.

The Chinese are believed to prefer bringing in the Bologna playmaker for his status as an Azzurri player and the link with Coach Marcello Lippi and apparent greater sponsorship opportunities that would represent.

Should Guangzhou prove unsuccessful for Diamanti, they are reportedly ready to close out negotiations with Biabiany by Thursday of this week.
