It has been speculated this summer that the 20-year-old may be loaned out for another year as he continues his development but, speaking to reporters from Italy’s U-21 training base, the player expressed his belief he will still be at the Artemio Franchi come the start of the Serie A campaign.
“It is 90 per cent certain that I will stay at Fiorentina,” Bernardeschi said. “I’m not saying 100 per cent because in football you never know.”
The player also commented briefly on the future of teammate Juan Cuadrado, who is expected to leave the club this week.
“If he stays, it would definitely make us happy.”
