Milan patron Silvio Berlusconi is "working" on bringing Paolo Maldini back to the club possibly as a director.

The legendary former defender retired in 2009 after devoting his entire 19-year career to the club in red and black.

Maldini has expressed an interest in working for Milan, even turning down the chance to join Carlo Ancelotti at Chelsea as a Coach.

Speaking at a party to celebrate his 25 years as Milan's owner, Berlusconi was asked about his intentions for Maldini.

"We are working on his return to the club," he said.
