Berlusconi is believed to be unconvinced by the style of football on show.

The patron made more disparaging comments when visiting children at a therapeutic centre in Trivigliano, near Frosinone.

“I know that you met the Milan players on Sunday before the Frosinone game. I hope you told them how to win,” La Gazzetta dello Sport quoted Berlusconi as saying.

“You are fortunate enough to have Father Matteo as your Coach.”

During the same meeting he also commented on other Rossoneri players.

“Alessio Cerci? Kevin-Prince Boateng is better. As for Cristian Zapata, I don’t know why he’s playing.”

This adds to recent outbursts on the topic during Berlusconi’s encounters with the public for his political party.

“I am angry. I spent €150m and I don’t know when we’re going to get back to winning ways.”
