Milan President Silvio Berlusconi has refused to back Coach Massimiliano Allegri. “Results will make his future clear. We’ll see what he achieves on the pitch.”

The patron caused a stir when giving an interview to SportMediaset in which he refused to answer whether Allegri would still be in charge next season.

Berlusconi went back on to the subject this evening, but was no more reassuring in his response.

“We have a rapport of friendship and respect, but there’s no need to look forward now,” said the Milan chief.

“The results will make his future clear. I don’t want to say one way or the other right now, we’ll see what he achieves on the pitch.”

Berlusconi has hinted numerous times he’s trying to convince ex-Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola to take the Milan job next season.
