Inter legend Beppe Bergomi insists the Nerazzurri didn’t underestimate Sassuolo, but Simone Inzaghi ‘missed’ Juan Cuadrado.

Inter suffered their first defeat this season on Wednesday, losing 2-1 at home against Sassuolo.

Bergomi, a former Inter defender, has analysed Inter’s game on Sky Sport Italia.

“Sassuolo are a tough opponent. Inter created a lot in the first half, but Sassuolo make you lose a lot of energy,” he noted.

“Denzel Dumfries was the best striker, but Inter missed Cuadrado, they are a bit tired right now. I don’t think they underestimated Sassuolo, they used the best line-up.”

Cuadrado was unavailable due to an injury and it’s unsure he’ll be back against Salernitana this coming weekend.

“I think the Sassuolo game was the most difficult one in Inzaghi’s head. Now they’ll play in Salerno and then they have a new Champions League match, which will be important to win.”
