Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali has confirmed that Domenico Berardi’s knee injury is a ligament strain and will keep him out “for a few weeks”.
Berardi pulled up in the final minutes of Sassuolo’s 2-1 win against Pescara on Sunday, and Carnevali has since shed some “unfortunate” light on the attacker’s setback.

Berardi pulled up in the final minutes of Sassuolo’s 2-1 win against Pescara on Sunday, and Carnevali has since shed some “unfortunate” light on the attacker’s setback.
“Berardi had an MRI scan [on Monday], and the first lot of information we’ve received from our medical staff suggests there’s a straining of his medial collateral [ligament], so they will do further tests on him,” he told Radio Uno.
“The lad has left the Under-21 convocation, and I unfortunately think he’ll be out for a few weeks.
“He’ll miss Juventus and also the game against Athletic Bilbao. Berardi’s one of the best players in the Italian League and he’s a big loss for us.”
