Reports in the Gazzetta di Modena suggesting that the Reds are watching the player have been picked up by members of the English Press.
It remains to be seen however, whether this is new information or an attempt to revive a story that was reported back in October.
Berardi is only just returning from a long layoff after an explosive start to the season, in which he scored seven goals in eight appearances for the Neroverdi.
