According to Sky Sport Italia, the negotiations for 20-year-old midfielder Locatelli have taken an intriguing turn.

The Rossoneri want a swap of loans with option to buy between the two young talents, but Sassuolo prefer it to be an obligation to buy.

Berardi had been very close to Inter, the club he confessed to supporting since childhood, but they instead signed his Sassuolo teammate Matteo Politano.

Nothing is expected to go through until after the CAS verdict on Milan’s appeal against their exclusion from Europe as a result of Financial Fair Play violations.

Berardi would also be brought as a replacement for Suso, who has many offers on the table.
