Juventus target Karim Benzema says he expects to still be playing his football with Real Madrid next season.

Benzema has been paired with the Old Lady and those links intensified recently when Juve director general Beppe Marotta met with Real officials.

However, speaking with Marca, the French international said he wasn't aware that he would be leaving the Spanish giants.

"I do not believe that Real Madrid are thinking about selling me," he stated. "Coach Jose Mourinho is counting on me."

The former Lyon man has had his difficulties at Real since his 2009 switch, but he insists he will prove his worth.

"Next season you will see the real Benzema," he underlined.

Marotta yesterday admitted that the club were targeting a top class striker over the summer months.

Talking to Sky Sport Italia, Marotta was asked whether one from Carlos Tevez [Man City], Benzema or Sergio Aguero [Atletico Madrid] would arrive.

"Let's say that we are looking for a player who is similar in profile to those," he responded without naming names.

Atletico have today confirmed that Juventus have expressed an interest in Aguero.
