The Italian champions confirmed last month that they would be exercising their right to bring in the Uruguayan, but Calciomercato report that the first stage of the 19-year-old’s Serie A career will not take place in Turin.

According to the Italian outlet, Juve will first allow Bentancur the opportunity to gain experience and first team football by joining the Azzurri on a temporary basis.

The Bianconeri have a long history of loaning players to Empoli to aid their development. The likes of Daniele Rugani, Sebastian Giovinco and Claudio Marchisio all spent time in Tuscany before returning to play a part at Juve, while Matheus Pereira and Andres Tello are currently at Stadio Carlo Castellani for the season.
