Milan midfielder Ismael Bennacer explains why he is ‘in love’ with the Rossoneri and says Zlatan Ibrahimovic wants no errors as ‘hard work brings results.’

The Algeria international spoke to the Champions League Magazine on the eve of the quarter-finals’ first leg against Napoli at San Siro.

He recently wore the captain’s armband, which he described as a “big honour.”

“It means so many things because Milan are a great club. As a captain, one has to be an example on and off the pitch,” he said.

“Nobody can explain how special this club is, you can understand on your own that this is one of the biggest clubs and I understand it by breathing incredible history every day. This is why I am in love with this club.”

Bennaccer went on to explain Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s contribution to Milan’s recent successes, especially last season’s Serie A title, the first in over a decade for the Rossoneri.

“He wants everyone to give his all. Errors are not allowed. We have seen that hard work brings results. We are meticulous, we only improve when we strive to achieve perfection. You don’t have to leave anything to chance, even if it’s not up to us. That’s how you get to the top.”
