Napoli won both their opening Serie A games, scoring seven goals, but Rafa Benitez insists “the team is at 70 per cent.”
The Partenopei crushed Bologna 3-0 last week and on Saturday conquered Chievo 4-2 at the Bentegodi.
“There are some things still to improve, I think the team is at 70 per cent and we still have time to grow and become even more competitive,” he told his official website.
“What I really liked is the type of game that the players are showing on the field. This is a new team; a different system and we are giving everything to get to the top.
“Now we have a break in the competition, but we will continue along this path. I am very confident and satisfied after these two matches.”
Marek Hamsik has been the stand-out star, scoring four goals in the first two games of the season.
“Marek has a great ability to lose the defender, always coming at the right time. Right now it is the strength of the whole team, but Gonzalo Higuain has also done his part – creating space up-front.
“For me the collective is what is important and we are having a great response. We have to analyze mistakes, adapting and working with great intensity.
“The mentality of the team and the performances are very pleasing for me.”
