Rafa Benitez gave an extremely tense post-match interview, hinting the referee was to blame for Napoli’s defeat to Torino.

Like their defeat to Palermo, they had the chance to close up on Roma and stumbled, falling 1-0 in Turin.

“I didn’t like our first half performance. I liked the second up until the mistake for their goal, but that was still not sufficient,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

He was adamant the Emiliano Moretti handball – which could not be considered voluntary because it ricocheted off his leg first and then on to his arm – was a penalty.

He also felt Fabio Quagliarella should've received a second yellow card.

“There were incidents, which I think everyone saw clearly. I am tired of talking about these things.

“My opinion? My opinion is that I am tired of seeing certain things.”

Gonzalo Higuain hasn’t scored in five rounds, so should he have used Manolo Gabbiadini earlier in the game?

“Maybe.”

Benitez was extremely tight-lipped, giving generally monosyllabic answers.

“I just don’t like losing. That’s all. I didn’t like the first half, I didn’t like many things and I am tired of them.”

Should the Coach instead be tired of seeing Napoli concede goals from set plays?

“Maybe.”
