Napoli Coach Rafa Benitez says he has a 10 year vision at any club he works for and likes to create infrastructures for the long term.

The Spaniard however admitted that any hope of winning the Scudetto this season is over and that he will be worried if the Azzurri are in the same situation this time next year.

“We can’t lie, the Scudetto has gone,” Benitez said to Corriere del Mezzogiorno.

“We need to aim for targets that we can reach. That means second place and being ready for the start of next season, with the right players and creating the right mentality.

“I want to create an infrastructure that lasts in the club and in the city.

“When I work for a club I think about being there for 10 years, because it’s a project.

“I’m not a Coach who goes to a club, wins something and then leaves.

“Napoli are not a team who should win something every 25 years, if next year we are in the same situation then we should be concerned.

“We must improve defensively, we know that.

“In Italy there are teams who change their Coach so often, I don’t think it’s the right way.

“If after every match there is a judgement it’s difficult to reach objectives.

“If you want to reach a certain level, you shouldn’t keep changing your ideas.

“You should keep working on one idea, make your judgement at the end and then decide what to do.”
