Mehdi Benatia’s uncertain future continues to make the headlines, with Sky Sport Italia insisting that he is likely to now leave.

Last weekend there were strong rumours that the defender was on his way to Bayern Munich, but it was later revealed that the capital club had rejected an offer.

However, Sky Sport Italia have claimed that the Morocco international and Roma are still at loggerheads, with the player wanting to leave.

The club are growing impatient by the fact that the player has so far refused to accept their proposal of a new contract that includes a pay rise.

And the station now believes that Rudi Garcia’s men are willing to accept a new offer from the Bundesliga champions, should it arrive.

Pep Guardiola’s outfit are thought to be prepared to bid up to €35m to land Benatia, but are also considering Atletico Madrid’s Diego Godin.
