The 26-year-old is on the verge of a move to Rudi Garcia's men after, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, an €8m deal was agreed last week.
The defender though, has revealed that he was close to signing for the Ligue 1 champions.
“Two years ago Leonardo wanted me to go to Paris Saint-Germain,” he told L'Equipe.
“They did everything to get me. Udinese did not want to sell me after just one season in Serie A though.
“There was also some interest last year, but they bought Thiago Silva – and it's normal to want the best defender in the world.
“I can only speak well of Leonardo. I have a good relationship with them.”l
