Manchester City assistant coach Enzo Maresca has reportedly agreed terms with Leicester City to become their new head coach.

The 43-year-old Italian, who spent time with Juventus and Sevilla during his playing career, has been working with Pep Guardiola at the Cityzens since June of last year. He helped the English side win the Treble in his first season at the club and has quickly emerged as a promising young coach.

Leicester City are keen to start a new project following their painful relegation from the Premier League, and in recent days Maresca was tipped to be one of their leading candidates to become new head coach.

As reported by the BBC, Maresca is set to become the new Leicester coach after agreeing personal terms with the Championship side. His appointment is expected to be announced imminently, allowing him to start preparing for the upcoming season.

The Italian’s last experience as a head coach came with Parma in 2021; he oversaw 14 matches before leaving the club in November of that year.
