Juventus defender Andrea Barzagli expects this weekend's Derby d'Italia against Inter to be a very important game.

The 29-year-old centre-back has yet to play in the biggest fixture of the Italian calendar, as he only joined Juventus in January after spending two and a half seasons with Wolfsburg.

Interviewed on the Juventus Channel, Barzagli said: "It will be a big game. Inter went through a difficult period at the start of the season, but they have rediscovered their best form since the arrival of Leonardo and are back in the title race.

"Juve, on the other hand, have recently put together some good performances even in Palermo despite the negative result. The team did well away to Cagliari and we saw the real Juve again.

"Sunday's match will be open. It's very important for both teams. Inter will be looking to stay in the title race, but we must give continuity to our win in Cagliari," he concluded.
