Inter stars Nicolò Barella and Hakan Calhanoglu will miss Sunday’s Serie A game against Fiorentina at the Stadio Franchi after receiving a yellow card each in a Supercoppa Final against Napoli.

The Nerazzurri won their first trophy this season thanks to a late Lautaro Martinez winner in a Supercoppa Final against Napoli on Monday.

However, there was also bad news from Ryiadh as the Nerazzurri will be forced to do without their midfield stars Barella and Calhanoglu for the next Serie A game against Fiorentina at the Stadio Franchi.

Both players had received four yellow cards prior to tonight’s game, so a fifth bookable offence against Napoli would lead to a one-game ban in Serie A.

Barella was booked for dissent in the second half, while Calhanoglu received the second yellow card in two Supercoppa games for a foul on Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in the opening 45 minutes.

Therefore, both players will miss the next league match at the Stadio Franchi against Fiorentina on Sunday night.

Likewise, Napoli striker Giovanni Simeone won’t be available against Lazio, having received a red card tonight.

Inter currently sit second in the Serie A table, one point below Juventus, but the Nerazzurri have a game in hand.
