The Giallorossi officially signed one player today, Roger Ibanez on an 18-month loan with obligation to buy from Atalanta.

Multiple Italian sources claim 21-year-old Carles Perez will fly in on Tuesday to complete his transfer from Barcelona.

It’s reported to be worth €13m plus bonuses, but Roma director of sport Gianluca Petrachi confirmed over the weekend that they will not accept Barcelona retaining a buy-back clause.

Spanish media insist the Blaugrana are still holding up the medical until they have some sort of guarantee over his future.

“The negotiations are at an advanced stage, we have an excellent rapport with Barcelona, are talking to the lad and obviously need to convince him we have the right sporting project here for him,” director of sport Petrachi told Sky Sport Italia.

“I prefer to remain cautious and not say it’s done before everything is finalised. Roma are nobody’s feeder club, so if the player comes to Roma, he will be a Roma player, there will be no right to buy him back.”

Midfielder Gonzalo Villar has booked his flight from Valencia to Rome on Tuesday evening, so his medical won’t be until Wednesday.

He is at Elche, though Valencia had to agree first, as they have first refusal on the player.

It’s believed this transfer will cost €4-5m.

Meanwhile, there are exits too, as youth team product Mirko Antonucci is flying out for his medical for a six-month loan with Vitoria Setubal.
