Barcelona have given Juventus the green light to begin negotiations with Arthur, claims Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo.

The 23-year-old was signed from Gremio for €31m in the summer of 2018 and so far this season has made 23 competitive appearances, scoring four goals and assisting four more.

He has long been named as a Juventus transfer target, including in a potential deal involving Matthijs de Ligt.

However, it was reported that Arthur was not eager to leave Camp Nou or make the move to Juve specifically.

Now Mundo Deportivo claim Barcelona hope to ease the negotiation process by allowing Juventus to speak directly with the Brazilian midfielder.

That is a show of faith between the clubs, putting the Bianconeri at the front of the queue for Arthur ahead of Inter and Tottenham Hotspur.
