Vidal is reportedly suing the club for an unpaid bonuses in relation to last season, believed to be in the region of €2.4m.

However many people believe the real agenda is to force through a move to Inter, and a reunion with his former Juventus coach Antonio Conte.

Vidal told Radio ADN in his native Chile that “it was unfair my claim is not being recognised by the club.”

Now the Catalan club has responded via a note to the tribunal overseeing the dispute, accusing Vidal of only bringing the issue to light due to reported interest from Inter.

“This is a unique case in history: someone pays you a debt, and it seems to you that the rules are not respected, then wait six months without politely warning that there may have been an error, and then request that within 24 hours you have to be paid a certain figure, only when the media publish news of interest from another team," the note said, according to Mundo Deportivo.

“The actions of Mr. Vidal show that he has peacefully received a payment in accordance with the agreements, and only now, for reasons unknown to us, does he express this.

“In these six months Vidal has not considered it necessary to communicate anything to us about this issue.”

The Chilean has been long rumoured to want to re-join Conte at Inter, with the pair working together for three years at Juve from 2011 to 2014.
