The Spanish Minister of Health Salvador Illa has confirmed that Barcelona-Napoli will not be played behind closed doors. “The match is not at risk”.

The Italian government announced all games played on Italian soil would be played behind closed doors until April 3, but the Napoli fans look set to be able to watch their team play this month after all.

The return leg in the last 16 of the Champions League has been scheduled for March 18 and the Spanish government has not decided to close the doors on the team from southern Italy.

“The match is not at risk,” the Minister of Health Illa told RAC1. “There is no danger of the game having to be played behind closed doors,

“We have decided to close the stadiums only for the games that would be attended by people from the affected areas but that’s not the case here.

“The only thing that we are preoccupied with is the exodus of many fans.”

“The Champions League game between Barcelona and Napoli could be played regularly, as Naples is not currently in the zone at risk, like northern Italy.”
