The Catalans have been increasingly linked with a move for Fiorentina’s winger this summer, but recent suggestions were that they had missed out on a deadline imposed by La Viola to reach an agreement.

However, with FIFA rejecting Barca’s appeal against a two-window transfer ban, effective from January’s market, attention is on their intentions to close out this summer’s activity.

Whilst club President Josep Maria Bartomeu has indicated a confidence in Barcelona’s appeal on the ban being taken to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, Catalan publication Sport report that he will today meet with sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta and Coach Luis Enrique to talk transfers.

Sport understand that the content of this meeting may include strategy for a return bid for Cuadrado.

The Blaugrana are understood to view the 26-year-old’s €35m-€40m valuation as too high, but apparently hold to the idea of entering into talks in the coming week to find an agreement.
