Mario Balotelli looks set to leave Nice in January, according to reports in France, after being frozen out by Coach Patrick Vieira.

The Italian international was close to a move to Marseille in the summer, and as a result he didn’t turn up for the start of pre-season training.

Les Aiglons then announced that Balotelli would be staying for another year, but his form has been disastrous.

Super Mario hasn’t scored at all this season, and was sent away by Vieira this week, with the former Juventus midfielder stressing the need for "a solution".

Now Yahoo Sport in France is reporting that Balotelli will leave, with a meeting planned between Nice and agent Mino Raiola in the coming hours.

Given that the striker’s contract is up at the end of the season, any move would likely be a loan until the end of the season, unless an agreement can be reached to terminate the contract early.

Parma were interested in Balotelli in the summer, and he’s likely to have other options in Serie A too.
